Tres Leche Cake Buttercream Frosting

A modified Tres Leche cake frosting recipe (less butter, less sugar, more dulce) that I used to fill my Hello Kitty cookies and macarons (pictured on right) for this project.

Tres Leche Cake Frosting Recipe

Ingredients

  • 13oz Can of Dulce de Leche
  • 1/4 lb butter (softened)
  • 3 Cups 10x Sugar (sifted)
  • 1/3 Cup milk

Prep Time: 15 min

Cook Time: N/A

Yield: 120 1.5" french macarons or filling for 2 8" cake layers

Instructions

Cream softened butter using mixer outfitted with whisk, add dulce de leche and mix until well combined. Add sugar one cup at a time, checking consistency to make sure it isn't too dry. Add milk and beat until fluff. If your frosting is too dry, add more milk! Too wet, add more sugar.
